Terms of use

Last updated 4 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and focusmigo for using the focusmigo website and app. By creating an account you agree to them and to the privacy policy. Questions: hello@focusmigo.com.

Who can use focusmigo

  • You must be 18 or over.
  • One account per person, in your own name or a name people know you by. No impersonation.
  • Keep the information you give accurate, including your date of birth and, if you set it, your gender.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep access to your email secure.

Meeting people safely

focusmigo connects people who then meet in person. focusmigo does not run, attend or supervise sessions. Photo and student verification check a selfie or a student email or ID; they do not check someone's identity, background or intentions. Use your own judgement:

  • Meet in public places such as cafés, libraries and co-working spaces.
  • Tell someone where you are going, and leave if you feel uncomfortable.
  • Don't share personal details you're not comfortable sharing.
  • Use block and report whenever something feels wrong. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first.

Community rules

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate against or pressure anyone, online or in person;
  • post sessions that aren't real, or use sessions to sell, recruit or advertise;
  • post content that is illegal, sexual, hateful or violent, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • post photos of other people without their permission (spot photos should show the place, not people);
  • misuse women-only or verified-only sessions, or try to get around blocks, limits or verification;
  • scrape, overload, probe or interfere with the service or other people's accounts.

Hosting

  • Post sessions you plan to attend, at real places open to the public, with accurate times.
  • Approve or decline requests fairly and cancel early if plans change, so people aren't left waiting.
  • You are responsible for the sessions you host, within what is reasonable for a casual meet-up.

Your content

You own what you post. You give focusmigo permission to store, display and share it within the service as needed to run it (for example, showing your session on the map or your tip on a venue page). You can edit or remove most of your content; some of it, like chat messages and anonymous venue tips, stays as part of other people's sessions.

Moderation

focusmigo may review reports, remove content, limit features or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, with or without notice where safety requires it. You can stop using focusmigo at any time and ask for your account to be deleted.

The service

focusmigo is free. It is provided "as is": features may change, and it may sometimes be unavailable or contain errors. Venue information comes from other users and map providers and may be out of date.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, focusmigo is not liable for the conduct of other users, for what happens at sessions, or for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law of Sri Lanka.

Changes and law

If these terms change in a way that matters, you will be told before the change takes effect; continuing to use focusmigo after that means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction.
